Workshop on Convergence of Wireless Broadcasting and Communication Networks (CWBCN)

Introduction

Traditionally, wireless broadcasting and communication networks are exploited to provide live broadcasting services and wireless access services, respectively. Recently, with the rapid growth of mobile Internet services, such as mobile video services, many researchers have been actively studying the technical solutions for the convergence of broadcasting and communication networks to efficiently deliver rich media contents to massive users. Furthermore, several international and domestic standard bodies, such as DVB/ATSC/3GPP/NGB-W, have been working on the standardizations of the internetworking of wireless broadcasting and communication networks. This workshop is expected to bring together both academic and industrial researchers to study the major challenges and solutions in this field. This workshop will be held in conjunction with Chinacom 2015 on August 15th-17th 2015 in Shanghai, China.

Topic of Interests

We are seeking original contributions that have not been published in any other journals or conferences. All accepted and presented papers will be published in the Chinacom 2015 Conference Proceedings. Topics of interest include but are not limited to the following:

  • Network architectures for the convergence of wireless broadcasting and communication
  • Unified protocols for the convergence of wireless broadcasting and communication
  • Cross-layer optimization techniques for the convergence of wireless broadcasting and communication
  • Transmission techniques for wireless broadcasting and communication
  • System-level performance evaluation for converged wireless broadcasting and communication networks
  • Prototypes and field trials of converged wireless broadcasting and communication networks
  • Application and security related issues in converged wireless broadcasting and communication networks
  • Progresses of international and domestic standards towards the convergence of wireless broadcasting and communication networks
